The Teen Volunteer Squad program is currently full. Interested applicants can continue to submit an application and you will be notified if a position becomes available.

Do you want to volunteer at the library this summer?  Join our new Teen Volunteer Squad!  This summer, we are looking for Reading Buddies, Harry Potter Party Planners, kids craft helpers and more.

For teens entering grades 7-12 in the fall of 2017

All participants (including new and returning volunteers) must complete an application- Pick up an application at the library or download it here!

Each volunteer will be a member of one of the following squads:

  • Reading Buddies
    This squad will help beginner readers keep up their reading skills over the summer. Squad members will choose books based on a theme and be expected to read aloud, listen to and plan activities for their young readers.
    Mandatory Orientation: June 28th at 11am
    Volunteers must be available to attend at least 4 meetings: Wednesdays, July 12 - August 16, 10:30am - noon
  • Book Wranglers Squad
    Are you an avid reader? Love talking about books? This is the squad for you. Help create book displays, decorate the library for Summer Reading and work on book projects in the library stacks.
    Mandatory Orientation: June 27th at 2pm
    Volunteers must be available to attend at least 4 meetings: Tuesdays, July 11 - August 15, 2pm-3pm
  • Teen Tech Squad
    Offer one-on-one tech lessons to seniors – teach them how to use an iPad, tablets, Android phones, Facebook, Twitter and more.
    Mandatory Orientation: June 28th at 9am
    Volunteers must be available to attend at least 4 meetings: Wednesdays, July 12 - August 16, 10:30am-11:30am
  • Harry Potter Fanatics
    Did you know Harry Potter is turning 20 this year? To celebrate, the library is hosting a week full of Harry Potter themed activities. Help plan games, crafts, and decorate the library for our Harry Potter week. The best butterbeer maker will win a prize!
    Mandatory Orientation: June 28th at 2am
    Volunteers must be available to attend at least 4 meetings: Wednesdays, July 12-26, 2pm-3pm
    *Additional during our Harry Potter Celebration Week  To Be Determined – July 31st – August 4th
  • Kids Create It! Squad
    Organize and run a weekly craft programs for kids.
    Volunteers must be available to attend at least 4 meetings: Thursdays, July 13 - August 17, 2pm-3pm
